I spent a little time in my radio room today checking out the activity and discovered a problem with my stock mic of my Lincoln II+ not driving my system & needle on my meter. So I tried 2 other identical president mics and they drove the system just fine. So after taking the bad mic apart top to bottom and not seeing any loose wires I sprayed the switch with contact cleaner and put it back together and tested it. It ended up driving the system but wouldn't change the channel up but did OK changing down. So I'm thinking instead of spending time to fix a $30.00 mic I might better buy a new one. I found the new President Digimic and wonder if anybody has tried it and could give a report on it either Yaa or Naa. It's a little more expensive but I wouldn't have to do the hole drill mod like the original and my time is worth something. The only thing I Think I remember reading is it wouldn't change the channels on the Lincoln II+ even though it has up & down buttons.

Thanks for any help !

I got a free Digimike with my new Washington, and it's great! Clean, crisp and clear audio, and getting nothing but good reports using this mic.

Yes I would like to try it but I found the thread in here that stated that it won't change the channels on the Lincoln II+ and that is important on the Lincoln because they don't have a channel change knob on the dash panel, only 2 small up & down buttons. That's what makes the Mic control button important. Right now I'm using the mic from my President Thomas but maybe I'll call President Radio and see if they will send me a new mic because it might still be under warranty. But thanks for the only comeback & Happy DXing And by the way How are you liking your Washington ?

Excellent microphone with good audio. I have 3 on each of my Presidents, and one in the box for a spare. The mic fits my hand perfectly, has a decent weight to it, and just oozes quality engineering.
