11 meter is very quiet?

I started on 37 LSB but there's a few guys running some serious power and acting like an ass.
Once conditions get this good I pretty much have to stay off 37 through 40. It is literally wall to wall with huge signals from folks running 1000 watts when 10 watts would do the job fine. On top of that you have the 1111111111 guy, the crying babies, the angry political & racist rants, the religious nuts, the sirens, Fox news & Hitler speeches, and people constantly audioooooooing....

One day I promise I will record a random minute of 38 when it's booming like this so you can all hear what the USA sounds like to those of us beyond your borders LOL! It's pretty insane.........

There was also a very loud guy today on 40 LSB wiping out everything from about 27.3 to 27.5 MHz when he transmitted. I QSK'd and politely asked what he was running. D-104 mic into a Galaxy 959 into an old sweep tube amp. What a horrible splattering mess that combo was brewing up!!!!

Yeah I heard that yesterday 36-40 lsb and couldn't get a comeback and kind of thought I might be Covered Up. I might have to start exploring my radios other channels potential !

Dx wasn't boiling today as hard as it was on Friday and Saturday. Still strong, but less weak signals cluttering up the airwaves. I had good QSOs today with stations that I could hardly hear over the pile the past two days. This is the kind of DXing that I enjoy the most. I hopped around from 27.555USB down to 27.365LSB a lot. Many operators I was used to hearing on 37and38 LSB are on 36LSB now, and it's starting to get crowded there too. 39 thru 44 are pretty empty, but each one has one or two stations just monitoring waiting for someone like me to call CQDX. The exception is 42 which is always flooded with Conspiracy theorists, know-it-alls, and just plain a-holes. 555USB was somewhat busy, but very few English or Spanish speakers. So I wasn't able to get but 1 or 2 QSOs there all day long.
Still no WDXers, but fun none-the-less.
Have a good week, Amigos.

About now we are all praying for rain around here because everything is scorched and ready for fire. And I think that Wild Fire smoke from Canada had a negative effect on some of our vegetation. I never seen my Horseradish green tops look so bad.

I didn't have much time for dx but I did have the station running and conditions were definitely there again.

Unfortunately for the first time since the spring the 111 guy was booming into my receive again...... geeez

Looks like the fall dx is here so let's get it while it's hot!

The original 111111 guy was (and is) in the Phoenix area of Arizona. That guy has spawned numerous copycat 111111 stations all over North America, including in Texas and the midwest.

The last couple days I've heard two different 1111111 guys, plus the crying baby, sirens galore, Fox news for hours, and a live broadcast yesterday of some kind of religious or political rally that went on for ages.

37, 38 and 425 are by far the worst for this kind of crap. Much nicer on 36 & 39 and up above in the freeband.

Not the same person. There is a decent one-hundred eleven CBer in Upstate NY.

I did hit Scotland when I went North about 20 miles up out of this stinking valley. This valley runs about 25-30 miles before it opens up on both ends. And US Rt. 11 runs up thru the valley almost at the bottom only superseded by streams and ponds. A beautiful area but the curse for a radio man. LOL

Conditions this evening aren't great but still workable. Propagation good one minute and then not so good the next, but...... had the great pleasure of catching @Shadetree Mechanic in there even if mother nature didn't let it play out for a little bit longer. 808, it was great to hear you in there my friend!
