I don't see that DX has been blocked? I have worked Israel, Australia, New Zealand, & many more countries the last couple of days on several different bands so I guess their secret shield has some serious holes in it. The conditions are far from Perfect but I have seen them far worse many times. The conditions are far better later in the day than in the morning here in Northeast Florida. I LOVE DX & 90% or better of my QSO's are with DX Stations Outside of North America.

There's a heck of a lot more to propagation than "flux spots" or sunspots my friend! For one thing, the influence of those spots is largely dictated by the direction they are facing.....and sunspots only affect propagation if they release a flare or CME. Solar flux has more influence than sunspots but it is still only part of what creates propagation. I think you are conflating sunspots and solar flux which are two very different things, though one can certainly affect the other....
Lots of great books and articles out there that detail how all the different factors come together to create (or not create) skip conditions.
And no, they are still not blocking the skip with chemtrails........ conditions have been pretty good the last couple weeks. South America, Downunder, Caribbean and South Africa have all been heard (and worked) here recently, along with a mountain of stations from the southeastern U.S.
160 watts into a delta loop. International contacts were all on or around 27.555USB

It is typical for DX to go to crap when solar activity is rampant during the summer.
There is "Blanketing" that occurs where signals get absorbed before they can propagate.

I have a little skip here. Conditions aren't great but I hear some stations in Indiana, Tennessee, Ohio etc. on 38 right now........
Do you have a cell tower or some other broadcast facility near your QTH? I wonder if your radios are being de-sensitized by blanketing interference? Just a thought.....
no towers. there was some skip yesterday but it didnt start rolling till about noon then around 4pm it shut off like a light.

Well that makes sense considering that there is only a small fraction of the stations on the air that there were in the 1970's thru 1990's !
I remember talking to folks up in Yukon every night in the late1990's on 36LSB....not a single one of those guys is still on the radio today. And that's just one area.....
Back then there were so many sideband operators on Vancouver Island that they had three call channels going 31, 32 and 37. Now there are maybe a dozen ops at most on the entire island, and ten of them never bother turning on the radio.
