Hey gang! I recently won the Radioddity QT-80 right here on the Worldwidedx.com Radio Forum!

I received the rig today, and was able to power it up in my go-box. This looks to be a very capable multi-band rig with a ton of features, and I'm looking forward to getting on the air with it soon.

Many thanks to Moleculo, the Worldwidedx.com Radio Forum, and Radioditty! I got an early Christmas present!

73, and Merry Christmas everyone!
Brett

Finally got around to putting a watt meter on this radio, which is a Goozeegoo ATU-100 tuner with built in watt meter.
I am seeing 47-50 watts FM, AM 20 watts max output setting, swinging to 68-70, 100-120 watts max output on SSB. This is running on my 20Ah 12.8 volt Eco-Worthy LiFePO4 battery. That is REALLY good.
I can't tell much difference with the AM NPC selected, but with it on (or off), power will go down to about 1 watt dead key on lowest setting and swing to 3.6, 3.8 watts. Raise it up to about 4 watts dead key and it swings to 15 watts.

I didn't do a lot of yammering, so the heat sink was just a little warm. It cooled off quickly.

If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Brett

Is the

Radioddity QT80

the same radio as the Anytone Q6 Pro ? I'm trying to convince my buddy to get a new radio instead of a Old base station which he will have to repair and it won't have all the features. And I'd like to save him some money if I could..

This rig pretty much does it all. Good of you to help guide a friend!

Well he is a good friend you could count on to be there for you if you need help. He's smart with a lot of valuable experience and use to be into DXing back in the day but had to get out of it like me because of husband & father duties were priority. The poor bugger now has some serious health issues and lives alone and wants to get back into radio but never had experience with SSB talking or FM. He wants a base station but I'm trying to make sure he gets the Most options for his money because Radio Repair shops aren't readily available around here. I was ready to sell him my Cobra 2000 with extra channels if he insist but a old radio is a gamble and it doesn't have FM or a VFO. Like all of us I don't know how much time he has left dealing with his Cancer so I don't want to sell him something that might break down because he can't fix it himself. But he does have a Hard Head so all I can do is try to make sure he gets the most for his money but the final decision will be his, but I will make sure he knows there is no guaranty or warranty on a Old Radio. There is some type of Romantic mystic about a base station radio, I know because I went thru that BS Phase myself and that cost me money also. LOL Live & Learn
