I’m wondering if anybody here knows what this black cylinder shaped part is directly above where it says J104? This is a version 2 Stryker 955, I flipped it over to LSB and as soon as I spoke I heard a click and smelled burning electrical parts. When I got home I pulled the radio out of the truck and heard something rattling around inside it so I took the covers off and it was this piece, the legs popped off it. It was still receiving fine and would transmit but it was very weak, I thought it must’ve popped a final but it’s this piece, looks simple to replace but I don’t know what it’s called to find one to buy.

It's a ferrite bead inductor over a jumper and you can replace the wire and reuse it if it didn't crack. The lead of a discreet part would work as the wire.

Edited to add, the new jumper might burn up too, if so the drivers/finals may be toast.

A final was my first guess, I was about 10 miles up the road talking to the wife at the house so when it did it,I called her on the phone and when I got back to about 3 miles from home she was hearing me over the radio again. I just thought we’d test out the SSB and see how it sounded and apparently it was jacked up too high to leave the RF power wide open or something. I never use it much and had never checked it on the bird meter. That radio was dead keying about 21 watts on am swinging average to about 60 and about 145 pep, I hooked the bird to it after this happened and it dead keys about 1 watt, swings average to about 3 and was about 15 pep. But I don’t know what circuit this piece is stopping from being completed, maybe with it gone it’s only transmitting with one final . I ordered a pack of these off Amazon for $7.00 that’ll be here tomorrow and I’ll stick one back in there and see what happens. One end on this one was burnt off so close to the edge there’s nothing there to solder to to put wires back on it .
