My first radio

I went to the meeting last night great bunch of guys

They are having a tailgate sale Saturday that would be a great place for me to buy a used radio preferably boat anchor but I have to work Saturday and can not attend.

But one of the guys gave me this to play with

I have struggled with it but I did hear some guys earlier

I was lucky enough to find on Google how to change the language settings despite RTFM and pull that off.

So it's a start.

Still terrified to say anything besides despite passing the tech test Idk what frequencies I'm allowed on

I also have like a TV guide for radio showing lots of different channels and stuff so that helps but it's still difficult to find any chatter

Check around on the internet for videos and there is a simple mod for that UV5R to make it work on GMRS channels also. It's all in how you turn it on so it doesn't require spending more time and money. If you can't find the video let me know because I know I have it bookmarked somewhere on my computer !
