Still drooling over your mobile 2000 I mean 2000 GTL huh DJ? The 142 gtl was every bit the radio just not as fancy. In fact I think the 142 that I had worked better than the 2000 I had. SO yeah, next topic junior. DO you have any more topics?
There's some of the problem right there. Those are not "your bands". They are licensed to HAMS to use. They do not belong to you. They belong to the FCC. They can yank them from you in a minute. If you HAMS have nothing better to do than gripe about lowly old cb'ers and their radios then you all...
How can a HAM posses and operate a radio that a). Is not FCC type accepted, and b) not even supposed to be in this friggin' country?

I...
For a SSB cb you can't beat the Uniden Grants. I would put those first and seconded by Philipine Cobra 148. No China shit... Now there may be some really great SSB cb's that go way back but I can't give specific models. The old Tram mobiles had some unreal audio.
Uniden PC 76 which is only...
600 watts... Umm yeah. And you can't honestly say this because the 4300-300 is a radio with a built in amp. It can't be a big radio without an amp because it has one built in.
I can't get real educated because I am not a tech but I have read where crystal controlled radios have a better audio sound. Why? I do not know. A semi- educated guess would be that the Mark IV went with the more modern PLL circuit in the transmitter. I will go out on a limb and say that tube...
