    Galaxy radios is dead

Galaxy problems started years before any real tariffs were enacted. Quality control has been an issue for years but a bigger issue is the Galaxy/Ranger relationship. [Note] I started to write juicy stuff and decided to back-space an entire paragraph. No need for drama. Suffice it to say...

    CX 46 tn1 CONVERSON TO 11 METERS

I don’t know that there are jumpers on your board. I’m not at the shop right now. Have you confirmed that the solder side of the board doesn’t have the 4 resistors that I pointed out on my first response. It’s hard to see your picture you posted.

    WHATS THE POINT re, QT40

SSB a little hot on scope @ 40+ watts pep Looks better at 32 watts pep. Meh AM looks very nice out of the box. Scope looked like flat topping until I zoomed in on the wave. One dumb quirk: Having to turn off radio and hold up button while turning on radio to enter menu mode. Receive is...

    WHATS THE POINT re, QT40

I picked one up and noticed the manual is a little out of date. Manual states to hold down up/down to start scanning. I didn’t realize til after reading the above comment that it’s actually reading out the frequency in 3 flashes [27] [38] [[50] …good Lord ‍♂️. Secondly, Fine Frequemcy Range...

    CX 46 tn1 CONVERSON TO 11 METERS

It would help to know the board number. Another option I mentioned was the dongle like in the Connex 3400, at least at some point in its manufacturing. [esit - added] And if they didn’t include the dongle, you can short two of the jumpers with solder or a jumper like on a computer board.

    CX 46 tn1 CONVERSON TO 11 METERS

I have never opened one but most Connex radios require removing a group of 4 or 5 resistors. Takes 10 seconds. •Remove lid •Radio facing you •Front right portion of the top of the board. If there are several small resistors there, clip them, being careful not to pull them away from the board...

Galaxy dx99V2 off 4K on various channels

Oh man, I didn’t know you were still working on this. That’s why you were in the shop all day. Ouch $$$ https://stores.goldeneagleradios.com/galaxy-dx99v2-channel-selector-with-frequency-counter-board/

Old School vs New School CBs: Which do you like ??

I don’t think there’s a radio that you can’t convert yourself (barring some ham radios).

    Galaxy radios is dead

I’m just curious if the discontinuation of Galaxy radios is official, or if it’s essentially a foregone conclusion at this point. A lot of us received that email from the unidentified distributor (which was hilarious because it openly displayed EVERYONE’S email addresses ), but is there anything...

What is inside the new Cobra29LTD w/NW radios?

It is still through hole design just like the LTD Classic and Chrome. All am/fm now. The LX was surface. Then they did runs of through hole and I think they’re back to surface so I’m not selling them. Just poor reports from customers. It appears inevitable, however.

Voltage drop with power supply when in use problem -

Just FYI: I’ve sold close to 1,000 of those units over the years. Try using an analog reading meter. 9 times out of 10, it’s not dropping in voltage (at least that much) it’s the RFI causing the digital multimeter to react. Sometimes, especially when modulating, you can see the meter “freak...

New Galaxy DX2547 Radios Produce Buzzing Sound

I thought I responded to this with the fix from Ranger Malaysia. Here it is: ***”Replace C305 with a 2200uF/25V electrolytic capacitor.” Personally, it is not good enough. I ended up using a *4700uf cap. It’s only noticeable if you put your ear to the speaker. Again, these were from a...

Yes this. It’s a pretty easy alignment procedure. I found them online for mine.
