Hello, where is the vr to adjust the meter? I just put a new one in and the needle is in the middle of the meter, or should I adjust the needle on the meter itself? Thanks.

Is having 6 Cobra 148 nwst, 1 TR469, Galaxy dx979, cobra 146gtl, some kind of Midland ssb, Cobra 29, and about 8 other parts cb"s, considered hoarding?

Resurecting my 148 GTL St's or NWST, one board has 2 IC's IC1 and IC5, other has no IC1 or IC5, the radio I am working on does not have the IC's, CBTricks has the schematics for the board with the IC's, everything else looks identical, but cant find schematic for it, or just go by the IC board...

Could it be a mod for max power output?

Receives very good, listening to skip, talked couple months ago, suspicious nobody is hearing me, now no tx, radio is unmolested, stock, as far as I know, I never opened it, even red paint is still on screws, had it since new, I checked against 2 radios, I know finals are one thing to check...

Playing with a 148nwst, when transmitting guy on other side of radio said I sounded like I was out of frequency, I checked antenna output , specs are ch1 26.965 tested 26.967, ch 40 specs are 27.405 tested 27.408, would this cause dx to be garbled?

Cobra 148 nwst, I have two giving me problems, first cb pins the meter, second cb meter bounced quickly in the 1-3 range, yet when I speak I get full gain, antenna is good or not shorted, tested a couple other cb's with same antenna and mikes, they operate normal. Anywhere I should start looking...

The ones I have are just boxes with a transformer and a rectifier. Besides you got me thinking. I am trying to tune the radio in the house with it, limited power output, too cold here in Jersey to put the cb in my Explorer, I made a power supply from a 60 amp server power supply, I should use...

Its an older radio Shack. Not grounded.

Hooked it up to my jump box. No hum. Guess Galaxy radios are sensitive to power supplies.

As I said I was just curious, my first Galaxy, never had a Cobra do this, I have several old and new, even hooked to the same power source, the hum is almost gone, I am going to hook it up to my truck soon, so I will see.
