    Speech Processor??? Anyone Have Info

Sorry I can't explain it better. I guess it is a form of compression, dynamic range compression. Maybe sometime soon I'll do a test showing a demodulated signal and how it relates to an audio signal at the circuit input. Thanks so much again for posting that project.

    Cleaning up a radio ???

For imitation chrome knobs, I soak them in a solution of Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner and 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for a few minutes, maybe longer depending how much crud is on them. While rinsing, I use a soft bristle toothbrush to remove any remaining dirt. Works awesome.

    Speech Processor??? Anyone Have Info

No modulation in this test. The input was simply a 1 kHz tone or voltage signal applied to the input of the circuit where a microphone would be plugged into. In the second part of the test, the blue trace is being limited from going beyond a certain point. It keeps the output signal at a more...

    New cobra 148s

I bought one about a year ago and I must say, I have to agree with 9C1Driver. Poor quality and not even close to being on frequency. Once I tuned it, it works ok. A little warble on sideband. I use it AM only in my vehicle.

    galaxy "gnf"

You hit the nail on the head 2RT307. At Least for me, tried it many times and totally useless. Seems like a marketing ploy of Galaxy.

    2pill 2sc2879 amp build

I use a 45 watt 16th inch chisel tip along with silver-bearing solder. Between the larger surface area of that tip and how well that solder flows, I've never needed any more than 45 watts.

need help with a ssb relay/switch

IF you still plan on doing this, you're going to need more than just a switch. Depending on the relay keying circuit, a capacitor or a capacitor in series with a resistor will have to be added to the base of the keying transistor, through your switch, then to ground. You might have to tinker...

What is up with drivers and base stations on 19?

I never use ch 19 for chit-chat. I know it seems strange in the cell phone era, but there are many truckers who still rely on ch19 for directions and road conditions. I would never want to interfere with someone trying to do their job.

So I'd like a mobile CB, but I don't want no stinkin' antenna

I don't think an antenna would look silly at all on your car. I'd go with a small mag mount on the trunk. Not the best place for an antenna, but for your needs it will work fine.

Watt meter and dummy load, which to buy?

Hey Doffo, I recently acquired a MJF-264 1.5kW dummy load that has served me well. I know some people had quality issues with this dummy load. For me, I have no complaints. Ive put up to 1kW into it many times and so far its resistance has remained the same. Whatever you end up buying, try to...

    Motormouth mall on 27.125

His great radio voice and pleasant disposition on top of that pro gear does indeed make him fun to listen to. He has his own web site that gives a quick run down of his station. Pretty cool.
