    I understand that. But once its wired its no longer NOS. Hopefully someone grabs it from you. When they are that clean the hammer tone paint really pops.

    You can call that plus 3 NOS but its not. It might be in great condition but it is 100% not new old stock. I have a new old stock one. There is no plug from factory. Bare tinned wires.

    You are good. Drill a small hole and pry it off. Just a Philips head screw back there. If you come up with something the fits the spot and looks normal post it up. I have some with no disc. Looked a long time ago but never found anything.

    Keying 10sec and quiting has nothing to do with board or components. 2 wires short through the switch contacts and key. So if the contacts are bad that would do it or something is wired wrong. The white noise could also be bad contacts. Or that little chip on the board if the caps didnt help.

    D104 MIC ELEMENT TEST?

    I have had some that actually drive the radio harder and have a very hollow sound when bad. Best test I have found is like you said put it on a mic. But listen to yourself on a monitor radio. Best to use a non amplified stand and a Hi-Z tube radio for test.

    Nope. The control on the bottom just limits the control on the top. You open the control on top all the way. Then you set the control on bottom until you hit your goal. Then thats the max the mic will do with top control all the way up. This way you do not over modulate.
