I had one back in the 90's.
I remember testing it at the Belmar marina, comparing it with 102" fighting stick, a coil and and a Wilson 5000.
~ Equal to the 102"
Better then the Wilson 5000 or coil.
It smacked a tree and got recycled fairly quicky on my chevy van.
Not worth the $$$.
2 cents..My at least 35 year old dumpster find analog O-scope is easy, quick and intuitive. Displaying analog data with an analog scope is the way the radio gods intended it.
My digital is somewhere on the shelf. But it works.
True "hifi" at AM is 20htz-20k at 80% positive and ~ 80% negative.
In reality 80htz-12k at 130% positive and 90% is good enough.
None of the above requires special software or boards.
I've run Yagi's at 6' off the ground to 120' off the ground. In my stupid uneducated experience....anything above 36' is good enough.
Running a quad at 50' now..seems good. But it also worked just fine a 12'.
I own (2) Sidewinder modified Cobra 29's radios with a variable channel broadcast. Basically it'll do from (1) channel to (20) up & down from the center frequency.
I'll have to a video someday.
What the hell is a "reflector wire"??? Can't imagine much difference.
Maco is not a bad platform to start with. And with a few mods it can be a good antenna.
However the newer designed antennas have much better gain.
