on this skipper 300 I have a driver tube that is bad and was wondering can I just drop a 6lf6 or a 6hf5 in and drop the voltage on that tube or no?

its just a 259. and no its not new I got it used at garage sale for $40 I was hoping it would be a simple fix if its gonna cost more than $50 to fix ill just throw it away id rather spend money on something new than have it repaired lol. any ideas on how its powered to the display?

yes swapped tubes around lastnight and dim tube did not get brighter and yes it is an 8950

I have discharged them and the driver tube is taken out but I was unsure of putting the dim tubewith the others will it make a good tube go bad? and the relay clicks when I key the mike. would it work if I just put one of the good tubes in the driver socket an just ran 2 tubes or does all 4 have...

no, have not tried to swap tubes around I didn't know if it would short another tube out but the driver tube it the one that is dimmer than the rest. I did pull it out but that's as far as I got was trying to find a cheap 8950 tube to replace but if I cant find a cheap one ill just junk this...

just picked one of these up and powered it on everything lit up got to the house and changed the batteries and turned it back on and the lcd don't work is there a way that it turns it on and off ? the 2 meters work when I turn the tune knob is it broke?

LOL, sorry dude I was in hurry got excited to have my first tube amp and it didnt work out for me was hoping it would but just my luck the driver tube is out. So now it sits in a corner until I can come across a 8950 tube for now Im just barefoot. I wish I never traded my 1x4 for it.

yes I know about the mic I converted it from 6 pin to 4 pin no longer has the 6 pin plug takes a standard cobra 4 pin I installed echo board as well just want talk back lol thanks guys

welli figured if theres a way to istallone I could figure out the talkback but this radio don't have one and not sure how to put talkback in it im using a desk mic don't want to use another mic with one built in lol
