The doors are metal and the top part of the cab is fiberglass while the bottom part of the cab is metal as well. Its on a 2020 freightliner coronado condo. Ive ran my own coax and mirror mounts. I bypassed all the factory crap. I attached a picture of the truck. It will be much like the sterling's.
Yes sir it does. Somebody converted it to a traditional 3 pin power plug and its slightly loose. I'm not sure if that would cause feedback being its so close to the so239
That's what I've always thought. This freak situation made me nuts. I will get the radio back to my tech so he can make it right. He is good people, I'd expect no less.
Ive got my first HR2510 and its doing some really weird stuff with my external SWR meter. I went in circles driving my self nuts just to bring my SWRs down to 1.8, and I wanted it much lower. So i changed coax, antennas, bonded the door to my cab, grounding my bracket, even ran new power wires...
I think I'm going to do it, yall are giving me to much confidence in myself lol. I'll probably just order up that recap kit for the 014 board and give it a try. And in the process move the counter ground out back. Wish me luck fellas.
Honestly I'm going to have someone else do it. That's way out of my league. It's just a matter of finding who I'll have do it. I'm certain I can find someone along i10, i20, or i40 between CA and FL who can do it.
That makes alot of sense, especially since its sharing a ground with the volume knob. I really appreciate that. As far as having it recapped, I've heard of folks having that done. Will it be difficult finding capacitors for the ept360010a board or should it be fairly universal? It looks very...
Thank you sir! I keep the side mic connex around because I sound more like a truck driver on it ;)
When skip rolls in I'll get the p300 or 138xlr out of the closet and plug it in.
I think the plugs on it are the plug in type rather than soldered in, but I can't be too sure. Its definitely got...
Thanks much again! This will likely be my in between radio. I've got a side mic connex 3300 that I use for AM, and president p300 and cobra 138xlr that I use for side band. It would be nice to not have to swap radios every time I go between side band and AM, that was the idea behind getting this...
Come to think of it, when I did recieve a bit on 38 lsb the noise was pretty much gone. So it's possible it's not to big of a worry with the recieve issue addressed. How do these older galaxy's do on side band if you dont mind me asking? I'm really excited to get it on the air and try it out.
