ft-840 will not key up thanks, i talked to Byron 3 weeks ago and he said he does not service 840's . i wanted to use him but he said no. any one else close to florida or close to it? thanks. nick KI4HDQ- transistorman

FT-840 WILL NOT KEY UP THANKS FOR THE REPLY, YES, TRIED DIFFERENT MICS AND MOX IS SET PROPERLY.NOW WHAT IT DOES IS IT KEYS UP ON ITS OWN AND STAYS KEYED. WITH ANY MIC. I TURNED IT ON SINCE IT FIRST BROKE DOWN AND WORKED GOOD FOR 5 MIN. TODAY. SOMETHING IS GETTING HOT INSIDE MOST LIKELY. LOOKS...- transistorman

yaesu ft-840 will not key up
hello. can any body help with this problem? i am reading something about a resistor getting hot and unsoldering itself. i use the fc-10 tuner and when i activate it it does key then but not with any mic. everything else seems to work properly other than that. thank you for your help in advance...- transistorman
