Exactly. I'll take my Grant XL over pretty much every thing else. I wouldn't mind picking up a clean Uniden base, or a clean cobra 2000.

Drifting radios, heard many. Called out and asked what model the operator was on. Got the response asking how I knew it was a galaxy... It Drifts...

I was in his area thus past Monday for a celebration of life, I was able to hear him on the backside of his beam. He still sounds good on that side. His audio is fantastic!!

I think he means what make and model... Would help to let you know where to wire it in...

Loving my XL, the only menu I have is what knobs/ switch does what... 3 switches have been modified to do other than what is listed on the faceplate.

I'll stick with power switch and knobs on my welders...

Very doubtful. Seems like most of the new mobile radios have menu buttons, and 2 maybe 3 knows. IMO, driver unfriendly. I much prefer the knobs on my Grant XL to a menu button that one has to read to adjust things.

I don't bother selling anything there, I do look, and occasionally buy something. I have been looking for one of those black face Uniden Grant XL for years. I've seen only one on fleabay, and it was at a time when I didn't have the extra funds to drop on it.

There is one there that has a $300 price tag, it's been there 9+ months. There are 3 others with extras, that don't look so bad, yet have blessed meter lights, one has multiple different colors, all from the same guy. No idea if they've been recapped or just modded. Minimum is about $150. Then...
