It sounds like you might have some carrier on your SSB signal. A quick way to check is to tune 1KC up (for LSB)and 1KC down (for USB), and see if you hear a tone. If you do than it is carrier on your SSB signal. You would then need to go into the rig and adjust the carrier balance to get rid of the problem.

RCI 2970 with a loud rushing noise when dead keyed and the mic gain off, like you would expect with a power mike turned full up .

Also VR12 and VR16 ALC hilow seen to have no effect on the noise or power.

The power seems OK and audio is good in all modes, the mod limiter is intact and VR13 works OK controlling AM modulation.

TR43 and TR31 seem to have the proper voltages as does TR33.

Anyone run into this before or got any ideas ?
