I got this from someone and he said it was 300 watts after i purchsed it i found that both 20 amp fuses were blown. There are 2 red wires with fuses...do both go to power? im wondering if it even works? i was just wondering if someone could tell me the brand? and are the amp is fixable if broken?
Thank you for any input! sorry Im pretty clueless to the radio hobby but I really enjoyed it in the 90s and thought id try to get back on.

I'd pop the cover and take some hi-rez pics. Someone may be able to dig up the schematic, but pics are always helpful.

It looks like a old "Grey 300" solid state amp, can you pull the cover and post some pictures?
Taking a look inside will be the first step to see if anything looks smoked.
What size fuses did it have in the power cords?

Can you look and see what size fuses were in the power cords?
It could be as simple as to small of a fuse used, the small "bat wings" symbol printed on the top of the transistors ( pills) tells you that they are Motorola, i can not see the number..... MRF 454? can not make it out from the angle.

mrf455 is a 60W transistor, so of you were to run the amp within the specs for the transistors you're looking at a max of 240W. The build quality looks decent. It looked like it was class C amp to me at first, but I think it might be AB due to the placement of a few components. Should sound good if everything works right..

Awesome guys ! thank you. Ill be on here asking more questions, ive been checking out alot of the previous threads and there is alot of good info here.
Just trying to find a place near me...philadelphia, jersey area that is a good shop for repairs and such. If anyone has questions about a Mercedes Benz I might be able to help out! since I dont know crap about radios! Great info on this site, Glad I found it. Im suprised at the amount of activity on here :)

Ive had a number of these over the years. Very good amps. The ones with the rocker style switches are the "newer" one. I actually like the ones with the bat style switches better. Gray are a very good quality mobile amp. Wish I had one to play with now. Enjoy..
