I have a maverick 250 dual transformer. The Potter Brumfield relay is out Does anyone know where these parts can be found. I sent an email to an electronics supplier and they gave me a quote of $159.00 for the relay. I can not believe that the relay would cost more than the amplifier. The part number is
KA14DY
110dc

5A 120v iph

Any information will be appreciated.

When the amp was new the relay didn't cost more than the amp. Now that both are obsolete you are going to pay premium for NOS parts that are no longer made. Makes sense to me. The original tubes in that amp are 6LQ6's They sold for about $4 each new when the amp was made. If you can find NOS 6LQ6 tubes now that are going to run you $45 or more.

So, a relay that was probably $15 in the 70's when they were made is probably going to run about what you were quoted. Your best bet is to find an old maverick parts amp or just another working amp with a good relay and transfer the tubes over.

Relays for D&A amps with 110 volt DC relays

Check out Harbach electronics, order the relay for the SB220.
These are high quality and the price includes shipping.
The NTE replacements are junk.
