I've been looking for one for a while and picked up one finally. I have a few questions about the PO's mods. It seems in fair condition and TX is 15w or so AM and SSB.

The top pic is of the clarifier mods (unlocking it). 2ND topmost pic of the wire soldered to R250 I'm not sure of? Neither of mine have that jumper installed. One is modded (1st version),but the other (2nd version) is a virgin as I got it that way. The underside pic shows nothing modded as far as I can tell. The diodes & variable resistor & other parts are most likely factory add-ons/updates for certain circuit improvement. Also it's been sooo long since I've had mine on the air I couldn't tell ya what output is!! LoL. I will tell ya this much, these def needed a power microphone, especially if the mic gain mod hasn't been done!! Unfortunately they also suffer from adjacent channel rejection a lil worse than most CB's. I always wanted to put in the infamous channel guard filter to see how much it'd help but never got around to it. That's about all I can give ya off the top o my head & without digging one of em up & hookin it up!! LoL. Hope this helps ya somewhat sir.

P.S. here is some more info for ya. http://www.radioaficion.com/HamNews/mods/mods-cb/4367-midland-79-290-mods.html
Sorry if the link is NOT allowed!!!

Thanks. The pot on the solder side looks out of place to me. It's got all the channels and seems to be in fair shape. Haven't gotten to make any contacts on it yet. I got it for my little car and its still not on the road yet.
