Nice find! I had the AM only version way back in the day & loved it. Great RX & just a great all around rig!! Always wanted the SSB model but never could locate one within a reasonable price. Old news nowadays for me! LoL. Finally sold it off but kept the matching desk mic (non powered) for nostalgia sakes! Ha Ha
 
Looks like two of the crystals are 11.1125, so one of them must be "tuned" to get a portion of the "uppers" or "lowers". The other crystal is an 11.3258, so that will get him 27.605 to 28.045. Don't know if the PLL has been tapped or not, but guessing by the mess of relays and crystals, it looks like it was done with crystals only. Just install the 11.3258 crystal, and isolate Pin 10 of the PLL from ground so you'll be able to get the regular 40 channels that way. Then the radio can be modded using the standard MB8719 PLL tap method that's used on the 148's. Nice find!!
