Aquario RP70 “Mini” AM/FM/SSB Radio With NRC

use main tuning knob to adjust?
It doesn't have a VFO function. It's a channelized radio, so that's not a "tuning knob" it's a selector with detents. It's possible that it does also function as a clarifier like you said, but if that's the case it must tune in steps. Hopefully they are tiny steps like 50 or 100 Hz.
Still a huge PITA. Dedicated clarifier control would be much better!

That really is tiny! I wonder what PEP is on sideband? Even 4watt AM & FM and 12 SSB would be fine as you could easily drive a small amp without having to mess with the radio. I also wonder how loud the audio could be from that teeny weeny speaker on the bottom.........
I would assume this is a software based radio like the QX ones where everything is done through a menu/service menu.

Simon the Wizard, among others, was reporting that RP-70 would be released in April 2025.

With one day left in the month, I don't think that's going to happen.

It's not on their website yet either:

I Emailed Simon about this radio, seems that at the moment we will not see this in the US due to cost (tariffs).
His reply:
___------

The last news of last week was costing. They were sending 2,000 pieces to Brazil. There are companies interested in Germany also USA but cost, cost, cost was in question. One guy told me $399 plus shipping trade price which is not sustainable.
When I hear anything I’ll let you know
Regards
Simon

I've not been on WWDX for a while, but been following this thread. I now have a production version here in England and I'm finding it very good indeed.

I'm uploading videos to my Youtube channel for those interested Dave .

Thanks for that. Hopefully they'll be on sale soon. A new product close to Christmas should kickstart sales nicely.

This is really exciting! There are lots of people with little bitty cars who haven't really had many options for a small footprint SSB radio.
How much smaller than the 6666 is it ?
Hopefully the insides are made by Qixiang and not RCI or President, and that way-too-bright orange screen can be dimmed (or even better dimmed and turned green like the 6666pro can).
Based on the frequency displayed in the pic I would assume it's convertible to run 10,11, or 12 meters. I wonder what the release date is and if it will be available on Amazon? Then there's the elephant in the room......the price, especially up here in Canada.
I am looking forward to this as well. I have an Antone smart, but I haven’t done the CB conversion yet, I also have a radioddity CB-27
which iI believe is actually made by anytone. The CB – 27 is a great radio excellent receive and good audio reports. I didn’t bother to do the conversion that works great just the way it is and it’s a fringe benefit if you hold the AM/FM button and when turning it on, you can get the UK FM channels. I can use that as a beacon to tell when the band is open. Noise blanker, and squelch and everything are good. I’m assuming the same people are making the AQUARIO RP70. The videos I’ve seen online indicate that it was made for the Brazil market, and it is type accepted, there for their 80 channels. If I had one, I’d like to add 10 m to the frequency coverage. I have a QT-60 pro for the car but I have to put it on the passenger seat. It’s too big to go anywhere else. Meanwhile, I have the CB 27 shoved in between the drivers seat and my hump for the center console. If that rig head SSB and 10 m even if less power, it would be good enough for me. Really nice to see all the amazing radios being released lately. A lot of them are based on chips. Sold to the two-way radio manufacturing industry, and most of the chips. Probably come from one or two companies. Many different brands of radios all have the same shortcuts and functions although the packaging looks different.
