I know, I will probably never find one. Years ago when I was in Georgia I found an electronics store in South Georgia that had some. I was working 6 days a week, and he was closed on Sundays. He wouldn't ship. So - never got them. I should have paid someone to drive down to get them...

I agree 100%. I have an original ANTRON 99. Talks and receives great. Best SWR with a steel whip on top. It broke when it came down in a storm. Bought a SOLARCOM 99 and it was a piece of crap. Fixed the original and it's our local vertical now. I wish I still had a Francis Amazer. The only...
I've been having some good evening QSOs with Georgia and the Carolinas on the East and Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas on the West. Great people to talk with. The kind that you want to invite over to have a beer. Real get to know each other conversations. . . not just ," how's the...
I mentioned that weakness the last time we talked. I'm glad you opted out on the V-Quad. I would have gone with A 2 element Quad. Strong , good gain and directivity. Easy to home brew. Maybe a project down the road.
Dx started out lousy today, but improved late afternoon. Lots of contacts out...
Yep. Great QSO mi amigo. I wish I could have heard your Superbase. Maybe next time. I turned the echo up like you suggested. Maybe it will be better. We'll see.
BTW - I had a QSO with 329 Mike in Louisville KY. His rig sounded great !! He said it was set up by Chris @ Nomad Radio. He couldn't...
I spent the whole day working on several of my radios. Non-working ones I'd gotten over time. Monitored 27.375LSB the whole day. I CQ'd Brother Dxer all day, and when I did , several stations (never him) came back to me. So, I had several nice conversations during the day. Took a break for a...
Tried Dxing from 11AM 'til 1PM. Nothing but static. At 1pm went up to the house to watch the Formula 1 race. At 3:30 went back to the shack and began calling for WDX226 and WDX1863. Again no luck. Went to work on the bench and at about 5:15 heard 329 Mike in Kentucky come booming in, calling for...
Dx is insane for all parts of the US this morning, but pretty sketchy for my part of the world. Gonna give it a try anyway. 37LSB at about 11 AM EST. If you hear me, give me a shout-out.

I fired up the base at 1:30 EST. Wanted to hear WDX226's new base. So dead on .375L that there wasn't even static. Monitoring and heard 0507 KY and had a nice QSO. Also 3648 SC, all the while calling WDX226. Just wasn't happening. Maybe manana.

I agree with Shadetree mechanic 100%, Flyboy. No apologies necessary. Those of us who talk Dx have used this thread to talk about whatever comes to our mind that day, even if it's only remotely connected to Dx. That's why it's lasted all these years and has over 10K posts. Your discussion...
Airwaves weren't crowded yesterday late afternoon, but there were enough stations out there to have some nice QSOs. 762 in Central Texas was sounding really strong and we had a nice long chat. 411 out of Columbus Ohio and 32 St. Paul Minn were in there too. I like it when it's not so crowded...
All the info I have on these rigs is: Connect pin 3 of the pll chip to pin 5 for extras.
Connect pin 2 of the PLL to pin 5 for more extras. No freq chart. . . Sorry.

Today was one of those days that you wish wouldn't happen. We had a severe thunderstorm last night that blew one of the new roof tiles off of my shack. No big deal, because the plastic sheeting underneath kept the water out. Fixed it today, no problem. But during the storm we had a close...
I have a B&K E200D rf signal generator that was given to me by a retired tech here years ago. Like brand new. After cap replacement and realignment (it was spot-on), it became part of my everyday test equipment. Only problem is that with the analog dial, it is very difficult to latch on to a...
