    New SB220 meters. Finally.

I use Ultimaker Cura. Popular program. Build a model, and slice it to an .stl file for the printer.

Transmit alignment 1 tone vs 2 tones???

I have an audio app on my phone that can produce multi-tone output. I was wondering the same thing as you brought up. I found that a 3 tone signal, using the radios' microphone, produced the steadiest and highest output level of the radio. It uses 1.5khz, 1khz, and 500hz. RF output is...

    Mosfet matching necessary?

I'm going to leave things alone. It's working. I appreciate all the responses.

New President Richard needs a magnetic mount - which one?

If you just want the mount, I have a Sirio 145. I use a quick disconnect 4' antenna with it. Well build.

    Bluetooth?

That is what I had in mind.

I don't know about others, but I find your handle and avatar offensive.

    Mosfet matching necessary?

OK. I'm learning a lot here. I used to repair CBs back in the 80s, and have forgotten a lot in the last 30 years. Mosfets were nowhere near being used as a final device, let alone being used anywhere in a CB. So, I have replaced the 3 pills with some with a higher trigger/threshold voltage. Is...

    Mosfet matching necessary?

The reason I ask is one day my Q5n started losing power. I heard a snap and the 10a fuse blew. I ordered a pack of 13n10 mosfets, picked out 3, and replaced the driver and both finals. That fixed it. I put the pulled mosfets aside. A real cheap fix. I bought one of those $22 testers on Amazon...

Instead of screwing around soldering the #6 wire to the board, why not just butt-join the #6 to the #8?

    Mosfet matching necessary?

When replacing mosfet finals, should they be tested and matched, or can you just slap a couple in. Just curious.

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

I get great reports on the SSB audio. Stock mic with the gain maxed in the menu. I don't use the amp on AM.

The only way to treat these Anytones is to enable 11 meters, and close it back up. They seem to do a very good job at the factory tuning these radios. By the way, the KL-300-p is loafing along at 150-170 DOSY watts with the Q5n2 pushing it with 12 w. I've gotten 200, but I want it to last.

Finally got hold of 917 today, but a difficult trip. 226 is an easy contact for the last couple months. Heard 404 calling 808, then faded out.

Need Coax advice for mobile antenna

Grounding is important. Using braided ground strap, ground the PU bed to the cab, the doors to the cab, the hood and tailgate. The body of the truck is your ground plane. Ground everything.

I would pound a ground rod in below the antenna and get it off the house ground.
