    I talked to a fellow 15 miles away on FM. We wanted to try it. When he wasn't talking, it was an ungodly static/noise. Audio was very clear. I can't see me using FM for anything.

    Decades ago, I had a Trik Stik. I remember it being noisy. They also pick up tons of static. Put a grounded lightening arrestor in-line. I'm using a Sirio GPE 27 on the chimney, with an arrestor at the antenna and a ground wire.

    Not liking the mic plugs on my Q5n and Q5n2, I use small cable clamps to keep from yanking them around.

    What's the big deal with FM? All I ever hear on it is very loud static. Anyone I have heard was hard to understand.
