I had a very nice, 10-15 minute chat with 154, Ken, in Coventry, England on 35L this morning about 10aEST. He was testing a couple antennas on his van. First was a 5000 mobile. Then he put an A99 base antenna on it. He might have improved 1 s unit. He admitted he would have to watch for bridges...
2:1 SWR due to snow buildup on the antenna. Maybe try DX a bit later when it melts.
This is the first time we've had to fire up the snow thrower. We got about 6".
That's all I do. Antenna, arrestor to ground rod, coax into the shack, swr/pwr, amp, radio.
All the electronics are grounded through the coax shield, and the pwr supply. I have never had to run separate grounds to equipment.
I got FQP13n10s here:

Lots of S4 atmospheric noise/hiss this morning. I hear 002 on 36L in UK just getting over it. Not even going to try.
The sun is pretty quiet right now. The flares from the last couple weeks has rotated away. Large spot lower right.
Between my Q5n and Q5n2, I get better performance driving my 203P amp with the Q5n. No matter the setting for RF out of the Q5n2, it just has too much forward power.
I'll be watching this thread.
I have a linear that the SWR goes up to 1.4-1 when it's inline.
And I'll ask: would an antenna matcher between the rad/lin help?
