    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

El ruido en estas radios parece ser alto. Tengo un 5555n y también un 5555n2. Se silencian cuando activas todos los filtros de ruido. Creo que es porque la recepción es muy sensible.

    11 meter is very quiet?

So far, and I say it lightly, 1111111111 hasn't been on 35-36.

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Now today, all NBs are off, and noise at 3. Different day and weather, different readings. We have that storm out of Denver headed our way tonight. I can't wait. I haven't had to shovel snow at all this year. So far.

When I turn all the NBs off, it's about 4-5 s units.

They are definitely different radios. The main board in this Q5n2 is so small they could chop 3" off the front of the case, making the whole thing shorter.

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

I'm finding the receive is a bit different than my Q5n. Service menu item 21, RXNR, has a great affect on the noise. Default was OFF. Adjusts 1-5. 2 is comfortable to me. The Q5n doesn't have that. I also run these with the NB and HIC on. I'm getting a lot of atmospheric hiss today. Tomorrow...

Firmware update question from a returning hobbyist

..you can register to be alerted to firmware updates but the only options in their registration site is for four handhelds, not a mobile like mine. And that's the way it is. No schematics (at least accurate ones) are available. Same with firmware. Just hang out around here and browse the posts...

I have a new Q5N2 coming today. I'll report my findings later.

    Opening the RM Italy cases?

Got it. 2 screwdrivers as levers on the back plate did it. Thanks.

    Opening the RM Italy cases?

I've been searching all over the net, and here, to find out how to open these ding-danged RM cases. All kinds of videos on mods and repairing these things, but none of them show how to slide open the darned things. If it matters I have a 203p and a 300p.

I ordered one of the last Q5n2s on Amazon today. There were 5 left, last glance said 3 left. With the cable it came to just under $300. Should be here Sun or Mon. I have the Q5n model already and really like it.

    Mobile False swr readings

The way I read this is you are using the radio for a base station, with a good 25 amp power supply, and a magnet mount antenna. Correct?

Little tuned circuit MRF455A figured out on the fly!

Before the mods, it reminds me of the Toy Box amp from years ago.

    11 meter is very quiet?

Talked to 121 Jamaica this morning, then a lot of EU came in. 121 AMsterdam, 450 Ireland and a few others. Now it's shifted over to the west with CA coming in, along with a few southern stations. Getting a lot of atmospheric hiss.
