I've also came up with a NPC mod for this rig as well. I will post a pic if I can figure out how.
This was just a preliminary test photo to show location of the mod. The final mod on my radio used, I think, a 560 ohm resistor in series with the diode to limit the amount of negative peak...
My radio doesn't have the NRC board installed. When I bought mine I could only find the one without NRC.
Mine does have menu 31 and 32 which appear to do nothing in my radio.
It looks like they are supposed to be receive band pass and transmit band pass. Just write down the parameters and set...
Before starting you must have the radio hooked to a dummy load or antenna. Also get a pen and paper and WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING!!! DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP even if you don't plan on changing anything. Scroll through each menu item and view the data and WRITE IT DOWN!!! Make a spread sheet of the menu...
I wasn't actually endorsing these actions I hope no one thought I was....I was just sharing a story from my childhood...I was 17 when these event's happened. It was mid to late 90s.
These type folks just didn't last long where I'm from! The rural Midwest...heck the local cop would have joined...
Not to try and turn this into politics or anything.......but.....I think it's pretty safe to say most of us are operating a bit outside the law and I feel it somewhat hypocritical for us to ask the Law to come to our rescue when someone operates thier station in a way we disapprove of. Laws...
Oh speaking of "reasonable" they gave that lady absolutely no accommodations which angers me deeply because she did try and she honored her commitment.
It's a shame she let them back her down to force her on an indoor antenna!
That is not a reasonable accommodation!
Never have I personally delt with an HOA..."you agree to the terms when you sign on the dotted line." I see your point, I would never sign!
Speaking as a Ham I am absolved of interference so long as my signal is spectrally clean and linear. I can't help it if someone's toaster is susceptible to...
That being said.....rest assured they wouldn't last around me if they lived close enough to bother me...I would find a way. I wouldn't go yank his tower down....(anymore) I'm smarter than that now lol but I would find a way
Ppl are far to happy to whine to the cops now days but sometimes the...
Oh....just for those that I might have rattled a bit with those seemingly vindictive measures. "Don't tread on me" comes to mind.
Every time we bow down and give up a little liberty for security or comfort it is never given back....it has to be fought for.
Of course this could have gone a whole...
There is no way I would have attempted to abide by the HOA crap. Those rules do not apply to a licensed service....period!
I would rain Hell on them all day and night and I would WIN!
They wouldn't have a toster that I wouldn't rattle the heating element in. They would dream my call sign!
They...
If Kopcicle has a similar experience we would get along great!
I've seen many come and go and lost some great ones along the ride.
Nothing holds a true operator down and true operators hold it down for the benefit of everyone!
'73 Panic Attack
Back in the late 90's there was a guy that would get drunk and key and play music and cuss everyone in my area. He had a Cobra 2000 and a MaCo 750.
After we heard him snoring in the mic "some ppl" drove to his house in a 4x4 F250 and cut his CoAx (which had been done before, mind you)
This time...
Break break for a degenerate Ham lol Don't you know they're allowed to treat the CB band like garbage.... they're better! Hehehe
I've been licensed for 24 years I think myself....I'm just a dang old pirate.
I love it all!
'73 Panic Attack!!
Light duty build. No heat tracking applied to the bias circuit. Output combiner needs to be larger, if you want those big watts lol. Looks like it will work though....pretty typical B bias build.
Very good to know!
I see you have the "unusual" vfo mode figured out. Alot of operators can't get their head around how the vfo mode changes the programming of the channel. I am assuming this operates similar to the 6666 in that aspect.
