is it true that the at-5555 will not behave well with any power mic? could this be the same power mic issue with the new president lincoln 2+ where only a noise canceling power mic will actually modulate without squeeling ?.
Seems like all the new 10 meter export radios that are sold in america...
I wanna build a coaxial matching transformer to match 75 ohm coax to a 50 ohm antenna on 11 meter band using rg-58u velocity 66.0 as the transformer between the antenna and the 75 ohm feedline.
I dont understand the formula so could somebody just calulate this for me real quik just need tonknow...
Thanks for sharing your expieriance and i can tell its all for real to because your willingness for providing all the details needed for the results you got and im gonna refer back to this post when i get my grant radio that i also want to do the mosfet upgrade as well
I agree the procomm is a dam good hand power mic and in my expieriance the best working option for president lincoln 2+.
Theres a peice of cardboard blocking the condensir that when taken out really bring that mic to life
heres my balcony antenna, i went with a 7 ft tall skipshooter fiberglass wire wound with a tunable tip that had to be cut off for a more refined tune on a specific frequency
I have a local who lives just a quarter mile from me who has a big 4 element cubical quad beam antenna.
His place faces the back side of this building whole im on the front and when he puts that quad right on me i still cant hear him as well as i should with a 5 pound signal while other locals...
Ive gone through every possible option available to me with differant types of cb antennas 3 or 4 times over and the final conclusion is nothing will work the way you want it to in this really bad very limited location.
Ive tried to re,invent the dipole and the delta loop along with the...
Heres my 7ft skipshooter mounted on my balcony rail bolted down to a quarter inch peace of ssteel.
I have just recently made an extention for this rail mount another foot away from the the building in an attempt to cut down the reflection and it was a success, no rejection as far as my meter can see
Heres my 7 ft skipshooter antenna on my balcony works great very little rejection tho i have change the mounting hardware so the antenna would be a little more further away from the building about 1 and 1/2 ft away from the building hhas made a significant differance with no more reflection
Removing modulation limiters do not always distort every radio theyre removed from somtimes the removal brings a radio to life like the president ronald
Back in the 1980,s i had a base antenna 40 feet up in a tree but was 1000 feet away from my house on top of a great big hill in the appalachian mountains.
I used twin lead ladder line the entire 1000 feet with 11.5 feet of rg 8 coax on each end made into open choke coils then about 6 feet or...
I had the president lincoln 2 v3 and i was very pleased with it as a base radio everything was dead on correct tho i cannot comment about its physical durabilty in a harsh environment outside the home maybe because my radio station goes in the living room.
In my situation both antennas performed identically the same except the skipshooter had less electrical noise so considering im using my skipshooter as a base antenna i like it better than steel whip
My 7 ft skipshhoter had to be cut down alot to use for cb band.
The tunable tip has to be cut off along with 3 inches of wire from the top load and itll set in just rite on cb band.
But dont do it because it worked for me as we are useing our antennas in differant applications where mine is a...
I just recently purchased a skipshooter 7 ft antenna for a base application and works fairly well after mass tuning of the antenna.
The tunable tip had to be cut off along with 2 and a quarter inches of wire from the top to get swr down to 1.5 on channel 1 cb band and 2.0 on channel 40 so i cut...
The skipshooter antenna should handle 10000 watts considering souly by the construction and material the antenna is made from.
As facts still remain that the longer the antenna and spacing of the wire wrap can be the differance between a little heat and no heat at all when 10000 watts keys...
