Yeah that link American Eagle sent me for the DX forecast for 10-12 meter turned out right for around here anyway. I tried this morning and it was a waste & when I was mobile Nothing ! Better days are coming! LOL
Don't feel bad, I've been tied up re modifying my already highly modified Harbor Freight $ 100.00 carport in it's new location. It's been thru 2 winters snow loads and I closed it in to make it a portable Garage. Poor Folks have Poor Ways LOL. And I think I shocked the neighborhood when I moved...
Your not alone, I have that same problem also. Some of it might be conditions but I credit part of my problems to maybe too many irons in the fire and maybe not having systems set up as good as they should be at least in my mobiles. And the home base I deal with this stinking valley. But the...
I got my Car port move today because it was a fantastic Sunny 84 degree day with only 54 % humidity and 7 mph wind. Worked my buns off all day and after putting all the tools away about 7:30 pm went for Ice Cream and the Q6 Pro was sounding superb on 38 lsb, mostly Jamaica but I was only hearing...
The clarifier will only help you in the receive unless the clarifier is unlocked. ( not from the factory ) I had the same problem with my McKinley strait out of the box it was off frequency. Took 2 radio shops before President sent me a new radio. The first radio repair identified a bad part in...
Like they say ( I'm up to my hinney in alligators ) getting summer work done and soon I'll be dropping the antenna for a little SWR tuneup. Both ends of the channel spectrum aren't too bad but the low channels are better than the high and I'd like to even them out. But if all else fails I'd...
My 2547 was doing a lot of yakking yesterday, of coarse it had to be the weekend but I had a intense project going on outside anyway. Then a thunderstorm come rolling in late afternoon- early evening so unhooked also.
I got a few minutes to set at the base this afternoon and did hear some yakking going on. I heard Colorado calling out but couldn't connect but manage to connect with Illinois for a short bit on the Lincoln II+ on 39 lsb. Heard traffic on 37-39 lsb. Jumped around a bit but it didn't last long...
That's one thing I do is save packing material from previous shipments and some sturdy boxes. Right now I have more important items on my plate but it will be like a wife that I don't have. Nag Nag Nag ! LOL
Thanks for the info and it is some thing to consider. Shipping a radio is almost like playing Russian Roulette with the gorilla baggage handlers, but it is tempting to ship down and pick up for the return ride. I might open it up and look for a No Brainer Obvious problem. Not often but some...
It's the same way on sideband. And I bought it off of ebay a couple years ago so I don't know the radio history but everything worked fine except 1 meter light which I fixed. And I laughed because when I got it I didn't know it had extra channels until I stumbled on to a couple repurposed...
Around a week ago I noticed my Cobra 2000 barely moving the power needle on my SWR meter when I keyed the mic. ( tried several mics ) The transmit light lights up on the Cobra and if I talk to my test radio in the other room I can hear it receive the transmit from the Cobra but with no...
Yeah my 2547 has been yakking all day, but been busy with things. But seems nice to see a investment working anyway. Getting close to a motorcycle ride for a Banana Split to kill this heat wave. LOL Happy DXing !
My DX 2547 has been sounding superb lately and this morning teamed up with my West Mountain Radio filter but just came in the house for some late breakfast and the air wave are silent again. You know its bad when you hearing nothing but static on 6 AM but your not missing much on that channel !
Yeah I noticed that while I was getting cleaned up for the day and wouldn't you know it, it is June 19th a holiday so my neighbor is off today. I did take the Expedition for a run but noticed the SWR running high so I have to check that out. Anyway hope everyone else has luck with the DX.
For what it's worth here is a middle of the road beam I'm considering if I ever get out of this stinking valley. It comes recommended by Jesse James of Dallas. It was his first beam and served him well, now he has a even bigger one and talks world wide. So he says anyway ! LOL...
