OK, I'll crack open the old wallet.... I kind of figured that would be the answer since nobody else said they were using but the TS 500!
I'll look into the TNT 600 HD as well.
Got cha on the antenna.... going with Sirio Tornado 27!
Says can handle 1000 watts. sounds like it should do the job...
Now that my Optima is on the way.... been looking at getting the
Texas Star DX 500 (non variable) to use with it and ask a few questions about it.
Sounds like a good one to use, all I need to do is run 2 1/2 watts or so DK into it.
I have seen that others with this radio get the TS 500 to use...
Well, after reading ALL the info, and asking a lot of questions.....
I went ahead and pulled the trigger and ordered the Optima MK3!!!!
I just feel that this is the RIGHT radio to get!
Now, the wait begins, looking forward to getting and setting it up!!!
Thanks everyone for the help in the...
OK, thanks.....
Damn, Had a chance to get a turner +3 a while back.
I sure like the looks of the Turner +2..... just have to scout around and find a good Turner +3!

like this.....
is out of the question???
OK then.... when I order, have them put in freeband and I'm good to go!
Thanks camaro1, I know you told me about not to worry where the jumper is/was.. I just wanted to make sure before ordering which mode to have that jumper on and knowing that i don't have to open it up and voiding the (1...
Question ......
To run the Optima on lets say 11 meter (for now anyways) I would have them set the internal jumper to the freeband mode when I order? I looked at the settings of the internal jumper, and they way I'm taking it that in the "Free Band Mode" it's open to ALL frequencies, 10/11/12...
Problem #1

When ordering have the CB shop check this and if too high have them lower it?
I have heard some complaints that this radio works great until one day it just dies!
Is this what causes that?
This is one...
Ok, that is a lot info here...... will take the advise.
Will research and look at prices ect. and make an informed
decision on it!
Thanks all for heading me down the right path!!!!
Hope ALL had a good Thanksgiving!!!
