Mike is right. That G90 SDR is a nice piece of work. The mod is out there so it will work 11m now as well.

Maybe he has a bunch of them and needs to sell them. They are average at best. Not sure why N4DXX feels the need to pump up an average Anytone export.

The early KL503 ones were terrible with that silly unbiased driver transistor. The HD ones might be better if all 8 are fed together but not at 300w. 200 watts PEP would probably be a cleaner output. But the proof is in the pudding! Who has one of these new ones? How is it?

Open it up and make sure they put thermal paste on the transistors. In some of the similar units they forgot. Transistors getting hot but they wasn't being cooled. And remember the ratings for those mosfets was never very good in continuous mode. FM really hurts them. Divide the SSB rating by 5...

It just ain't gonna happen with the cheaper Ham radios on the market today. By an FT 891 and be done with it! Smaller, more powerful and more features than any export CB you will ever see. And more expensive too, but not too much. Remote head means it can fit anywhere in your vehicle.

Maybe on AM. It is a noisy bastard on SSB receive. Sounded tiny to me. I tried to like it but couldn't. No different from any other SSB Anytone. I have had them all. AT6666 is the best of the bunch by far.

People selling the 7300 are probably upgrading to the 7610

I like my FT 891 but the 7300 sounds better on receive and hears weaker stations a bit easier. Menu system on the 891 doesn't help but the size and remote head certainly do. Need to play with the RF gain on both radios.

Thats exactly how a stock Lincoln 2 sounds...moreso on a high gain antenna. The AGC circuit needs to be reconfigured with different values. The version 3 was supposed to have this sorted. Good luck

Some nice functionality off the channel selector but it really needs some sort of frequency counter or you will get lost in no time. A 2 digit channel readout is pretty useless with all the coverage it appears to have.

That is so you get it to work with different mics of differing sensitivities and still get full audio. Also you may not need full mic gain on SSB but you usually do on FM. Show me a Ham rig that runs with the mic gain on full. Mostly you run them at about 50% or so with the standard mics they...
