Adjusting a Yaesu to match that counter is probably not a good idea.

Well couldn't wait for weekend. Did some Frankenstein and it's in. A little shorter than original but looks way better than no switch and works.

Thank you for the offer. I actually have some of those. Was trying to find original type before I go trying to make one like that fit. I thought about the buss wire route but the original has a tab on each side soldered to the board. So when you put pressure on the switch it won't push inward...

It's a spst on off slide at a 90 degree angle board mount.

Anybody know where to find a switch like this? On off for wm1 meter. It's a right angle slide switch circuit board mount.

Did you check all the diodes? Make sure none are shorted. Remove the tubes ?

I would clean it good and bridge it with a piece of copper and solder it.

I believe you said you noticed faint display lit with power off. I'm too lazy to go back and read. That is a symptom of blown meter lamps in this particular radio. New lamps cures that.

The simplest test is to just jump out the switch. Less is more. Easy stuff first.

I totally understand that. We are talking CB and HAM radio. Everything is pretty relative. Unless you spend big money on calibrated lab equipment we are talking 5% 10% and sometimes 20% accuracy. For some reason some radio operators love Swing. I have had amps that swing backwards on avg yet...

Do you have a hum on tx side as well? Dead key and listen on another radio.
