Wanting to know what is best size wire to run directly to battery for small amp in motorhome ? Would 20amp fuse be enough ? Any ideas where wire can be purchased already made up with ends for attaching to battery ? Any help would be appreciated. 555

Thank you......KM3F and 9C1DRIVER, this makes a lot of sense the way you put it, I understand, it's been a while guy's, over 40 yrs ago. Technology has changed, modulation is the same, Amps were much different then, you could adjust for it. I got you loud and clear, I'll try and figure it out...

On the backside of the Amp is a sticker stating 4 watt input. Does the pre-amp being on or off have any effect ? 555

B) When I use my Amp (2 pill) B) either on HI or LO, locals tell me I'm driving my amp too much. My 148 gtl dead keys between 4-5 watts, what am I missing here ? Is that why some only carry 2 watts dead key ? I just don't want to mess up my radio. Should I look for a tube amp with LOAD/PLATE...

JMHO, I like the 4' Firestick mounted with the M-2 side mount on our Motorhome, Works great with good ears. On a trunk, I have to agree with OP, go for the 5'. Good luck. 555

Passed to me from a close friend, a really nice vintage type radio. It has not been used in about 10 years, closet kept no moisture. Plugged in and all seems well, Mic keyed, ON AIR lamp comes on, least bit of noise MODULATION lamp comes on as well. Meter shows good SWR, there is no noise...
