why clip a magnum when out of the box they swing great and are audio boxes!

try looking for a Frequency General Purpose Amplifier..
Maybe TR17 it should come out as a 2SC1815(final audio output amp)
or start checking diodes ad caps by the audio IC and transformer
there are cheap cap checkers out there. (make sure you short the cap out first...
yeppers, with the ground of the coax in the water and keying a 4 pill into a 8 pill (volt ed to 18 volts 2 alts) talking loud and proud :)

if that is a LTD check TR6 TR7 <for receive and no it wouldn't be that diode if it was it be popping fuses if it was hooked up wrong.....till you cut the diode to bypass it to see if it was the cause of a blown fuse :)
See the problem with radios is the transmit section is way easier to detect...
