I whipped up a 5/8 wAve gp for 11 meters this weekend. Its an upgrade (hopefully) from my 1/2 wave verticle dipole. Its about 15-20 ft offbthe ground at the base. It is hidden in a pine tree for now with future intentions of raising it up another 15-20 ft. Its made from about 15' of 1/2" copper...
This is going by the numbers on the plug. If the little cut out is up., 1 is top right, 2 bottom right, 3 bottom left, 4 top left. This is what it is
1. White
2. Black ground ( to frame not neg on battery)
3. Red
4. Blue
Also how from the diagram do you match the colors with pin numbers...
Ok i opened it up but not sure what to do. This is not nearly as easy asi thought it would be. There is no continuity between 1&3 with ptt button held in. And none between 1&4 either. Im lost. It does seemed to be wired right to the diagram on the plate.
So the whole housing the bulb is in shoud push out? Its hard to push because the buld is sticking out and i already moved one of the bulbs back and the little green lens came off. Ill have to go at it again later tonight
When i try to remove face plate, the only thing still attached is the wires to the 2 lights, on the inside the wires go into a round housing that the bulbs are in and appears to nexk down to a small diameter that is pressed into the face plate
Looking to clean up and replace the power meter in a older 29 gtl. Only problem is the led lights for tx and rx are sort of pressed in, is there a trick to getting them out other than cutting their wires?
Thanks for the help, now i just have to figure out how to do it. There is a schematic on the inside of the base plate so hopefully tonight when i get home i can figure it out.
Im cleaning up a old cobra 29gtl i picked up that seems to work really well. It has 4 pin mic jack. Im yrying to use my d104 desk mic which is wired for 4 pin and works on my galaxy949 and 2950dx (with adaptor). Does it need to be wired differently for the older 4 pin cobra? Also what baffles me...
Got home plugged it in and works, for 15$, got a great report rught away on my base from a mobile. Doesnt appear to have been opened up? Is this a decent radio and what can be done with it?
I am interested in learning to do a basic tune up on a 148gtl im getting tomorrow for cheep, also have a couple uniden pro 510xl that are not working properly. I picked up an oscilloscope a while back and made an inductive pick up. I have been playing around with calibrating the carrier and...
