I wanted it for awhile so rather crack it open and do all 3!" At same time. Why I asked about the filter combo the 480 allows SSB to use CW filter as well so why asked which would be best combo to install.
Id love some old machanical Collins ones but CK ill go with 1.8Khz and 500hz and yes on the TS-480 you can use CW filters on SSB.
Why I was looking at the lower end. Or 1.8Khz and 270hz
But I'll go with the 1.8Khz and 500hz... Am getting the TCXO As well.
Looking into future if had to replace tubes and NO I don't run and amp hard if it says it will handle 50-125 watts of drive I'm the one who puts it at 75-100 or some where between 75-100 watts of drive. Since the AL-1500, 1200, and 82 have same transformer it's safe to assume it's got the thump...
Going to get the TCXO option too just growing out for opinions. Which would be best I like to shut out loud stations bleeding over that's why going to put the filters in and is like to know which combo would be best had thought 500hz and 270hz, or 1.8Khz and 270hz. But those out their prob have...
Asked which to do 500hz and 1.8khz or 270hz and 1.8khz, or 270hz and 500hz as picks for optional filter choice and why? Was thinking 270hz and 500hz as choice for the CW and SSB filtering choices. What do you think?
Not seeking to run max power, but also sometimes things happen, which comes too how much cost, though the 1200 is a powerhouse the 82 does quite well and tubes are a lot cheaper yet still gives all day full legal power. It's is the 1200 tube worth it if it goes poof vs 2 3-500Z? And even if...
Thanks!!!!
Not a prob, interference was awful too and really bad on some things too.
This was just to see if these things worked before spending and arm and leg to figure out. And what did you know they do work I just looked at chart and went by frequency range I was at and wanted to suppress...
Really seen nothing different and now running power still no difference other than not comming over things. Signal report wise by same few talk too, and ears still same levels. Basically I wondered if it even did anything other than the things before it bleed over on stopped and I'm only up...
Based on bottom 5T RG58 4.25" air coil, was coming over speakers ect, then did this to my imax2000 and now nothing it's about 18-21 inches below the base connection. Using RG8X.
