Thank you, I'll let you know. Long story short. Since everyone in the area knows I'm into radio, I was asked if I can program business band radio's for offroad. That part was simple, but no without knowing the rules. It seemed it was the "norm" to run 110w on the MURS channels...huh???
I wanted...
It seems there is no legal way to do what they are doing. But I had race chatter on MURS and near MURS channels. I was told they pay extra for those "private channels".
I noticed every single radio was either a 60watt or 110watt buisness band radio. These are sold by a company sponsoring the race as MURS license free radios.
I don't have problem with it, but who breaking the law?
He"s selling it as a gimmicky super modulation. But the audio should be fairly flat and I bet it sound excellent..but I never heard one.
Great idea to sell it as a package. I'm sure I would have bought one 20 years ago if it was available. Beats the hell out of all the hv modulation xfmrs over...
Did watch parts of it..i do want to see the whole thing. Get John on the phone and be prepared to hear him talk..but interest radio stuff.

My buddy has one sitting in his garage new in the box..It worked great as far as I can tell. We called it the roof rack antenna. Just google it, this is what I got when I did...
DDRR has been around a hell of a lot longer then Joe Gunn. Its used on MW and SW a lot. Basically a horizon loop antenna that's about a foot off the ground. It produces a low angle high gain Vertical signal. Several antennas like it were made for 10/11 back in 70's for mobiles. Talk to MMM..he...
Always thought that myself. Separate grounds According to the incident report from the insurance company..and it's your own eyes that can see the damage. After the strike the ground wire insulation melted to ridgid piping ( all new grounding needed) .The j-box coming up from ground blew apart...
For what it's worth. A customer of mine had a direct lighting strike, it hit a chain link fence around a central plant. It was determined the voltage went down from the properly grounded fence then UP from the ground and blew the MCC to snot.
