FTM-350 : Band Scan Muted?

This is what I want to accomplish.... How ever, when I press and hold the button to activate band scope It says mute above the freq.

The actual word MUTE is on the screen above the freq when in band scope mode. :( And I dont know how to turn it off, nor can I find an answer in the manual or internet.
