MikesRadioRepair Reviews Asymod iii HiFi Board

No I don't. There are some that people have made floating around.

He really didn't engineer anything new. He added some already existing dc-dc buck boost scheme (available separately on eBay for .99¢) so you can run single voltage and some blinking lights.

You can mod some of the dongles for direct sampling that cover under 10mhz. Most CB's use a first IF of 7.8khz and would need a buffer amp so the addition of the dongle didnt load down the IF. I tied a dongle into the first IF of my TS-850 (73.05mhz) without issue, works really well!

With the progress that SDR has made I will continue my path of not hand building filters....lol

Ohh sorry I was talking about the audio path. BEFORE the balanced modulator that sends the audio from the mic to the balanced modulator or the ta7222 audio amp for AM. On the audio path the transistor is after the balanced modulator, sorry for the confusion!

The Kiwi bringing the facts....lol I would be willing to bet even the "mid fi 4.2khz" rolls a lot of the low end frequency response out. Pretty good for a CB though thanks for posting that!

Most radios have an 8v switched transistor just after the balanced modulator. You could feed your audio there and run the mauldulator board after that transistor. Or you could have it switch a relay?

OK Robb believe the guy who copied all his technical information direct from MMM. These board or any CB/expot will not transmit ESSB. Not saying that it isnt possible but im not sure you can even buy the wide filters. You can bypass some caps and direct inject the balanced modulator but all...

These boards have nothing to do with ESSB

CB has a channel width of 10khz I run 8khz wide. If everyone had sharp filter we could all run closer to 10khz wide.

They boards are capable of 20k but from what I understood is MMM added caps to limit the response to 10k.

I want to say MMM limited his to around 10k max.

Modulation looks fine on dummy load, not the antenna.

Grounding does weird things. I know on my setup everything is isolated from earth ground*. I ground the last piece of equipment either the watt meter or antenna switch to the ground rod (amp if its 3 prong 220v). My computer is also earth grounded but that's it. I had every imaginable ground...

Modulation looks fine on dummy load, not the antenna.

Sorry I forgot it was a 29, I doubt its a bias issue with that model unless it has been upgraded to a mosfet. I have has problems with ELK companion parts, learn how to bias without using the ELK scheme. Even Magnum radios with mosfets use ELK parts and that was one of their biggest downfalls...

Modulation looks fine on dummy load, not the antenna.

I use that exact method inside my watt meter. I can run 100mw to a few KW without issue. All %100 shielded is important.

Modulation looks fine on dummy load, not the antenna.

Stupid scopes finding problems you didn't know you had!!!! Most of the time the increase in swr can cause an radio to osolate. Might check your radio alignment, most likely the transistor bias.

Cobra 29 LX lower deadkey with 100 ohm resistor and no cap?

You can run the TS350 variable power lower (if equipped) or run it in SSB mode. The variable power or SSB acts as a attenuation. The same as adding a resistor in JP36. You would lose pep power either way, as soon as you add that cap you add a lot of distortion to your signal. If you add the...

Cobra 29 LX lower deadkey with 100 ohm resistor and no cap?

You can add a resistor and that will lower your deadkey but also your pep modulation like Loosecannon said. Depending on how much you want to lower it you would have to add a lot of diodes to lower it a few watts. What are you trying to accomplish?

Cobra 29 LX lower deadkey with 100 ohm resistor and no cap?

You would have to add a lot of diodes to lower your deadkey a considerable amount.

    Cobra 29 modulation adjustment.

Anything turned up past stock on a 29 wont look good on a scope. Some of the few that I have looked at, look really bad! Being stock and fairly narrow banded and getting a little wider with harmonic distortion doesn't hurt anyone. I might have to check that out one day, if you crank the mod on...
