True ... The S9-350 that I have with the factory original box .... Just reads S9 on the meter but the factory box says S9-350.

A S9-80 will use the SX-175 POWERCABINET ... to upgrade it to a S-175. I have one. I liked it so much I bought a S9-350. I am not sure what the issue is.

I ended up getting an S9-175 and was really pleased. In fact I just bought a used S9-350 to replace the S9-175. Buying used one can save a lot of money.

I will say... I will eventually put it up for sale. But I will need to get the S9-350 installed first.

Have you called Bob and asked for a second opinion? He does great work and since you purchased it there .. he might be able to give it new life. Just a thoght.

Update ... Well after another year of use I am still well pleased with my S9. No issues at all. So pleased that recently I stumbled on a very nice S9-350. It is now in my possesion. The transmit and recieve on these radios are top notch in my opinion. I do run a Siro 5000 mag mount. My S9-175...

Chipswitch is no longer aviavlable fron the Doc. Plus on the 2510 it isn't neeed for AM. (Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Chipswitch is NO LONGER AVAILABLE !!! Sorry to all who have not experienced the functionality of this modification to their radio. Maybe sometime in the future...

I have used a Siro 5000PL (Mag Mount) for about a year and have had zero issues. As a matter of fact I have hit an overhead object and it bent the whip about 6" from the top w/o issue. I use to own a Wilson 5000 but from my expereince I will stay with Siro.
