My front four pin mic 148 with sound tracker works great. I've never had a problem with it. I guess I'm stupid. I paid $75 for it.

Just an FYI for anyone reading this thread. I have the same problem with the Road Devil mic on my CRE 8900 and also did with my astatic 636l. It might am astatic thing. My Road King 56 didn't have the problem. I wonder how an RF Limited 577 would perform on the CRE? I almost won an astatic 575...

How is the road devil working for you? I put mine on and it squealed horribly. I had to turn the mic gain on the mic almost off and the same with the mic gain on the radio. It also made the feedback through the speaker even worse than ever. Especially on ssb. Even with the talkback all the way...
