Sat down to start recapping my Turner SSK and ran into a snag. The three replacement caps I bought are the right values, but too big, not enough clearance. Anyone know where I can buy the correct Temple caps? One is marked 25-250.
I was in a cb shop last week and was talking to the tech about my 959b. He said when he aligns that radio, they set the 10.240 reference circuit, which I know about. He also mentioned a 455khz adjustment. This is not mentioned in the service manual. Anyone know what he was talking about?
Im getting ready to replace the three electrolytic caps on the amp board. What i am wondering is if a 47ufd will work in place of the 50ufd with a bit higher voltage rating? Same for the two 22ufd at 160v rated caps that I bought. 160v is much higher than the originals.

Well my SSK arrived and it is about as close to mint as can be. The finish is still real nice. No scratches on the chrome head. Bottom cover and insides have no corrosion or dirt. Leaf switches in good shape. I'm going to change out the electrolytic caps shortly. This mic should be a really good...
