Thanks for the info.
Yes lost some pads no big deal as the trace and pads real small and thin traces.
So Ill see if i have a 7414 hex inverter to try.
I will post back with update
Here is a picture of the board and 6 pins used and 4 pins tied together.
the 4 pins tied together 2 and 2 are not used with any trace to the mc145106P.
Kit is working pretty good.
I know for sure the 18 pin is the MC145106P pll.
Im still looking on what might be the 14 pin chip use on this kit. here is picture.
Any suggestions/Ideas
So I tried the kit and it works pretty good. I was able to get to 28.535 and down to 26.515 with power enough to transmit. You need a freq counter to know where you are. It did go to 29.325 if I tuned the radio for that high but retuned back to 28.535 - 26.515. Also had to add a toggle to jump...
I finally received the channel kit with easy directions and how to broadband the vco.
Remove the 8719/8734 and add a socket. Then this kit plugs into the socket.
Comes with a 5 position rotary sw that has a couple of diodes on it.
no ground no power wires just plug in
In the pictures would...
Thank you all for the info and help and suggestions just something im toying with at this time. I do have some info and a kit on the way will be about 3 weeks delivery and then to install in radio. See what happens.
Im here in Boston Ma. So I tried everything to log in and nothing. Oh well I think they are blocking USA IP addresses so you cant log in but can only view the forum.
Merry Xmas to all
I did try that forum I was a member but something happened cant log on so I tried to create a new account and no response. so I can only read the forum cant log in to ask questions.
In my net search I did see that but needs to be connected to the DigiMax.
the one I saw on a site explains>
remove the 8719 install socket and plugin the channel module.
then mount the rotary sw.
No hooking to a digimax.
So Im hoping to track this down as it looks very interesting for a channel...
From what little info I have you need to have the 11.3258 xtal in circuit and you can see a rotary switch.
I also know there is another chip on the channel board.
Here is another picture with the 2000 going to 29.125mhz.
Thats about all the info i have on this channel kit.
Would anyone know if there is a post or write up on a channel mod for the mb8719 and mb8734 radios replacing it with a MC145106P pll
I know the MC145106p chip you can get more channels out of it than the mb8719 plls.
I have seen an actual kit you just plug into the removed 8719 and replaced...

I tried to pin point the Mark4A schematic on where you say it uses npn transistor to provide ground to the crystals.
I only found the 10.240 crystal to pin 4 on the pll.
Could not find anything else, I used the schematic on cbtricks not the best.
thanks
The crystals are 11.4758 and 11.1758 just need 11.3758 to 11.5758
and the 11.0758 to 11.2758. If you trim the cap im using the yellow 30pf seems to work best to try to get close to a 1kc up or down the xtal will stop, turn trim cap back and it will show frequency.
I can trim xtals to center...
I did try the Lou franklins setup and does work I used exact parts and it would switch from xtal 1 to xtal 2 when 12v applied. I used 1n4148 diodes.
What happens is the trim pot gives out when adjusting it. I tried different value trim pots like green- red -brown and same results. Not enough...
Wondering if some on the forum has made a 3 position or more crystal switch.
Looking to do this with transistors.
I tried a circuit and did not work Ill post the picture of what I tried.
I don't need an oscillator just something to switch in 3 crystals 4 xtals the most.
I tried the below and...
thanks for the reply. I have a bunch of these and will try a ceramic cap.
Was just on ebay looking for these silver mica caps they are crazy priced $32.00 for 2 and other crazy prices for other silver mica caps. Why such a high price?
