I am in south central MI. Where are you located? How did you get it to swing 15 watts? Yeah...the titan I just bought has new caps n resisters. He gave me a titan manual also. I have a Titan II with the 6GM5....really mint....but needs re capped.

I had the wire on the relay soldered on wrong....I fixed that and the relay started working again.....but that resistor I smoked allowed high voltage to go through and it smoked another resistor in the middle in the audio section.

The black cap with the x on it is the one that melted....and I think your right...I did something wrong when I filed the relay contact....after that is when it smoked itself......also mine does have different caps in it.

Yup...those by the ac cord......I thought I mite have had it fixed...the contacts on the relay were corroded black and I was filling them off clean....turned it on and it started smoking.....that odd looking resister nearly melted.

It was smoking from those long resisters.

I was sitting listening to it and it started smoking....I don't know what happened...but its a parts radio now.

Weird thing is...when the audio fades in...it will stay if I talk real quietly.....if I talk normally it goes out?

I sprayed the relay with contact cleaner....its got good receive.

Ive 2 Tram non powered D104's and one make a kinda church bell sound when you key up.....I think its the key up bar on the side of the D104....the radio has so much gain its picking up the sound of the mic keying up.....I could only hear this because I was using a AM demodulator.....brownings...

One thing....when the audio fades in you can hear a lot of background like the gain is real high...then when I speak into the mic the audio fades out.....I am using a tram non powered d104.

I double checked all the tubes....tubes are good.
