Anyone have any experience with the Sirio 827 5/8-wave groundplane vertical? I’m considering getting one this Summer and putting it on the roof for CB use as well as trying it out on 10M-20M.

By “both mods” do you mean the usual tune as well as the receiver upgrade? Yes, I had Bells do both.

He was splattering 1MHz wide even on my 7300. My Galaxy has nothing to do with it.

I did, but not much activity on the thread. I was considering a few radios but in the end I picked this 94HP for it's classic looks and functionality as well as the side mic jack since I'm running a remote mic jack in my mobile. I'm not too worried about drift because it's dead-on frequency...

That's a good question, but one of the screws on the other side of the case is so tight that the head just wants to strip when I try to unscrew it.

Oh, and the limiter is still intact.

Yeah, I can do that tomorrow. Not much I can do besides live with it though. I was talking to my local friend on 10M SSB with it and he said with the stock mic it’s loud and on the cusp of overmodulation with the mic gain set to 1 o’clock. Any less and I get quiet.

With the variable carrier all the way up it keys 25W and swings about 100W PEP.

Oh, and I put it on a dummy load as well to quell and doubts about the antenna. Same results.

That's what the transmatch is for. Seems to work fine, but it's far from ideal. I don't think it will affect my readings.
