OK, got my corona ball in today and installed it. Had to trim a bit more off the whip as expected, but I think I've got it set in the sweet spot now.

It made my Uniden 980 sound sweet. I’m planning to use it in my new Galaxy, I just need to swap connectors on it again.

Hopefully my new DX-94HP gets here this week. But, I have a dilemma. I have 12GA wire run from the battery through the dash of my truck up to where the radio will go. I’m thinking with this radio I might need 10GA. Should I pull everything and run all new wire through the truck or will I be OK...

It's a heavy-duty ass stainless spring. It'll keep the whip from bending if it hits something but on the highway it's rigid. Only the upper third of the whip bends back a little on the highway.
