yaesu ft-840 will not key up

hello. can any body help with this problem? i am reading something about a resistor getting hot and unsoldering itself. i use the fc-10 tuner and when i activate it it does key then but not with any mic. everything else seems to work properly other than that. thank you for your help in advance...
