Radio has a new board, more shielded and also memory channels so I am told by someone who spoke with the factory. Samples will be sent in April / May and then when orders received a line will begin making them. I expect a sample in May when the man with it returns from China. But ALL NEW I am told.

Yes that is indeed the radio that is "supposed" to be sold only in Russia and former satellite states. But you know sometimes things can get lost, so expect to see them in the EU and other places also sooner rather than later :oops:

This radio was discontinued many years ago, nothing new or interesting. It died long time before the ROHS directive would have made it obsolete.

Avanti Grande is a radio made for a man in Romania, along with many other radios from Qixiang. He is also a reseller of many other products. So the Grande is a V4 or V5 AT5555 made OEM, that's all.

About the board am not sure. Dimensions I was given are smaller than the 8900 and more like the smaller UHF/VHF designs. The weight was also heavier than the 8900, but of course sure can be a shrunk 8900 board inside although I was told was all new

Storm is a brand that is sold from Romania. The owner, I know and he is always in China checking for interesting stuff. They are all OEM, and available as I say direct from Romania.
