    Workman PS35 Review

I have an old Crusader 125 amp that is like that. It takes forever to go out. Much longer than this.

    Workman PS35 Review

So far, I have run it a couple hours, just loafing along. I smelled hot paint, like a new engine being run for the first time, but that is gone now. The heat sink is quite extensive, going across the whole width and height of the rear side with 4 transistors mounted in it. So far, nothing was...

LOL, probably. With any luck, it will be the same size as the 5 or 6 new computer fans I have laying around here.

I will when I get around to it. You never know, in a couple days, it might wear the high spots off the ballbears and quiet down on it's own. LOL

    Workman PS35 Review

I believe the PC powersupply I was using is a switching power supply. It did fine, it was very stable, but only had about half the amps, no meters and no adjustment. For that price and output, The one I got was the only power supply I could find of any kind.

    Workman PS35 Review

HAHA, we do think alike. I was just looking around my room. I am limited to space, but I do have a rather tall wood shelf system with a lot of wasted space for things I rarely use. I can't reach it from the desk, but there is enough space between it and my desk to roll my office chair in the...

    Workman PS35 Review

The price was right, from Redman Cb Inc. Shipping was very fast, and the delivery date was revised to 4 days earlier than scheduled, I guess that would be an advertising ploy from UPS. A nice touch with a 3 day holiday coming up. First impression was, this sucker is heavy, 29 pounds. I got it...

    Twin X-Mount Dipole Idea

Wonderful. Thanks for the link. I have a real interest in antenna geometry, but am just a piker at it, so this will really help. :tt1:

Portable Radio set-up for out door use.

If you decide to go with the case, get a Pelican Case. They are impact fiber reinforced fiberglass, completely waterproof, got handles, easy to open and close, and any size you want from small to trunk size and custom sizes and shapes. I have had one for years and still use it almost daily...

    Any FCC busts for DXing?

And how do they even know where to send a notice? They either had to send out a car to spot your antenna, and that only after triangulation from other stations, your neighbor snitched on you, or your such an idiot you been broadcasting your street address and zip code over the air.

Do You Leave It On All The Time?

I'm wondering what the conventional wisdom is on newer transistor radios and amps and tube amps. With propagation being so dependent on the ionosphere and that being such a flip-flopper, Leave them on all day, or turn them off when it doesn't look promising? What do you do? I have been...

I feel like a one legged man in an asskicking contest. I'm so busy trying calls I can't keep up. I am getting into Tennessee real easy, a lot of strong stations down there tonight. I'll try calling your number. :) 058 Wisconsin

I thought it had died early on this afternoon, but here it is, almost 10pm central time and skip is tiptoeing thru the tulips so fast I can't catch them all. Mostly Eastern states, SouthEast and South from me, very strange but I am not getting any California talk at all the last few days...

I know, it's like that when the skip is running. I do not have much experience with DX as a stand alone hobby, but I drove truck for years and most of that time I had a Texas Star 500. I had 40 channels, but no sideband and since I drove alone, I had hours and hours of sitting in truckstops...

It seems to be North and South and some East for me today. Nothing out of the West today at all. Yet. That usually changes as the sun get's over that way though. I am right on the Mississippi River about half way up Wisconsin. Last week all I heard was California and Baja, now, nothing but a few...

    Best CB Radio DX Antenna?

Henry, I don't claim to understand the math or science behind them, but I am so glad the first antenna I tried was one I could afford, the simple dipole with balun. It works for me, I talk DX on a barefoot little mobile or big radio and there is enough mystery involved to keep me interested in...

Turbo T, I know I tried calling you many times from just after you made that post last night. I wrote the name and number down in my log so I could remember it. I know I heard you, but it was so faint and fading in and out, I couldn't tell if you were answering or not. I use a dipole, and...

Someone Is Getting A New Toy - RCI-2985DX

It's the same front panel and handles, knobs are about the same but in different positions. Yours is more than $100 more, but mine is only new in the box. I also got all channels for 10, 11 and 12 meter. I'd say it will be worth it if you get the 11 meters. You'll still need an amp though. 40W...
